Where It All Began
1981. The real story of Ahogadas El Registro.
A family tradition we are proud of.
Why are we called El Registro?
In 1981, Don Jesús Arias began selling tortas ahogadas across from the old Federal Vehicle Registry on Avenida Niño Obrero. Customers started saying 'let's go to the registry sandwiches,' and that is how the name was born.
If you are searching for the original torta ahogada in Guadalajara, this is the story behind it.
Three generations, one recipe
Today, the third generation keeps the legacy alive with the same Guadalajara pride, protecting the original recipe and the El Registro experience.
Since 1981, this is the original recipe for torta ahogada in Zapopan.
El Registro and its legacy
Over time, the brand grew with new sister locations. Av. Guadalupe 4302-C remains the origin and reference point.
The same experience, the same flavor, at the location closest to you. Our sister locations preserve the recipe and style of El Registro, with local operation at each location.
